The listing, iPhone 3GS 16GB Cracked Screen Handyman Special has ended.

You are bidding on a iPhone 3GS. This phone worked perfectly until dropped and the screen got cracked. It does still make sounds and will power up using the charging cable, however, the screen does not light up. May just need a replacement screen. It does have a crack on the backside bottom and top and surface scratches on the back as shown in the photos. I am including the original box, iPhone headphones, charging adapter (I do not have the usb cable) and 16GB phone. Ships free. I used it on the AT&T network.

I am also including a DLO leather case.

no cable, but the little square thing yes :) If I find the cable i will include it but dont hold your breath!

I think its more then just a crack screen issues if the screen itself if it does not light up. It could be teh LCD / motherboard. Its going to be costly to repair.. But I am up for the challenge! I'll be watching and biddding later on... Thank you for posting!

It was working perfect and then dropped on the floor. Like I said it still makes all the sounds (rings, power on/off, and beeps when you connect a charger) So yes, as stated in the details I would imagine it needs new glass and lcd unless the cord came undone or something internally.

yea and does it have to be connected to turn on or like a normal fone ccharged and it works also do you have the password to the security just in case it locks

It connects to itunes just fine even thought you can't see anything on the screen. I restored it to factory settings and the latest iOS 5.

What if I replace the screen and the lcd and it still doesnt work? Has this ever been in or touched by water or other liquids?

Nope, never in liquid or touched water, however, since the screen doesnt light up I am unsure of functionality. I assume since I can hear the sounds when plugging it in to charge and I was able to connect to iTunes to perform a factory restore, the operation works.

It's very difficult to change a screen on a 3G or 3Gs. Trust me..

I read that I can use this phone as wifi only with all ap's without a cell plan if I do not insert a sim card - is this true?

I am not sure since I never used it without a sim card. I did remove my sim card as stated in the auction details and this will not be included. If the screen is fixed anyone can go to AT&T and get a free sim card.

Just FYI whoever buys this. I found a replacement screen for my daughter's 3G online for under $12 at http://miniinthebox.com/

AT&T wanted $149 to replace it, I got it replaced by a local repair/game shop for $20.. It was a bit tedious, and you have to be careful replacing the wiring, but not hard, I watched him.
