Which was your favorite Koontz novel? (I'm fond of the Odd Thomas series and The Taking) :)

oh boy... I don't know where to start! I love his books that feature dogs. Watchers was probably my favorite but I did enjoy the Odd Thomas series as well. I just received The Vision in the mail today and it looks pretty interesting so far. I also liked Strange Highways a lot but a few of the stories were somewhat disappointing.

Have you read 'Fear Nothing'? Its a two book series by him- I can't recall the name of the second book but they were EXCELLENT! I agree that some of the stories were disappointing. I really didn't like the book 'Tick Tock'...It was too predictable and seemed very bland. BUT 99% of the time his books are fabulous and I am a fan still :) Have you read The Taking? It had me gripped from page one, OH!! Have you read his Frankenstein series? Its soooo good!!! (5 books total) I couldn't put it down from the frist book to the fifth. :)!!

Yes! How could I have forgotten about the Snowman books?? The second one was really good, I can't wait for the third to come out :) I agree that Tick Tock was mediocre, it left me kind of confused. I actually ordered The Taking just a few days ago, should be here today hopefully! And the first Frankenstein book was great but the second one didn't catch my interest. I might give the third one a try if I can pick it up at a thrift store for cheap. Koontz had another really good book but I don't recall the name... it was about a secluded town whose residents were all slaughtered by something that claimed it was the devil. And the team who went to investigate ended up trapped there while this thing tried to kill them off one by one.

That book sounds really good! Hope you remember the name!! :) *insert eager jumping up and down here*

I didn't know he was making a 3rd book!!! That's fabulous!! Going to search for it!

In Frankenstein did you get to the part where Erika 5 'adopts' a new friend? :) Have you read to the dumpster monster yet?

Oh I hope you like The Taking! I really loved it! The ending was fantastic!

I agree- confused was definitely the feeling I got at the end of Tick Tock. I read it to the end hoping it would get better but it just kinda...deflated.

Have you read any of Brom? FABULOUS author! His books are all very dark- here are a couple of titles that were phenomenal!! *(They are NOT for kids!!) The Child Thief and Plucker.

I have three bookshelves crammed w/ books. I am what you would call a book *****. LOL :)

I looked it up & it was Phantoms! Excellent book, I highly recommend it :) I haven't gotten to Erika 5's friend yet, perhaps I will go ahead and order the 3rd book in the Frankenstein series. And I've never heard of Brom but I am always interested in finding new authors, so I'll go look him up right now! Thanks! How about Stephen King and Peter Straub? Gerald's Game and Koko both came in the mail today. I have to hurry & finish The Vision so I can include it in this lot, but after that I'll probably start on Koko

I will read Phantoms :) Maybe you can check the 3rd Frankenstein out at a library? I'd hate to have you buy it and still not be happy with the book. Maybe a friend has a copy you can borrow?
Brom is fantastic! Its dark-scary-full of the supernatural. When I first saw it, I thought; "A story about Peter Pan? Can't be that good...read it and BAM was hooked the first chapter...its not your typical peter pan story. TRUST ME! Then there is Plucker...Oooh that was another good book.
I don't find King scary. I also find his books tend to run on and on and on...I find myself yelling at the book "Get to the point already!" I even tried his gunslinger series....Oooh that was painful. Couldn't get through the first book.
I've heard of Straub, but will look him up. :) I keep trying to get King's book 'Salem's Lot'. I won it on here but then the person never sent it and never responded to my messages. I was really disappointed. :( I really wanted to try that book by King. I keep looking to see if it comes back up on here. There's one for big now but its not free shipping. :( We don't make much on a military pay so $2.00 shipping is too high when your broke...all the time. lol
:) Did The Taking come in yet? I'm really excited for you to read it! Have a fabulous week!! :)

I usually order books from Amazon because I work from home with their MTurk program, so when I want a book I can just convert some of my earnings into an Amazon gift card. And I'm also subscribed to their Prime thing so shipping is free. I end up with a lot of books lol! My husband doesn't really care for King either. He likes to read Ray Bradbury. I read a few of Bradbury's short stories and they were alright. Where are you stationed at? I live in 29 palms and my hubby works on the Marine Base here as a contractor.

I live on Fort Stewart. Its a terrible post and the town its in is full of gangs. We've been here for years and keep hoping to get stationed somewhere else...anywhere else. This is like the tar pits of the Army. Once you get stationed here you're stuck. *weeps* Jobs are scarce so I also work from home, I opened my shop to sell my jewelry/art. (I'm not just a book-a-holic, I also am a art-addict LOL) It's an online store so no matter where we were to move I'd have my store. :) I do a lot of commission art and its fun. Your job sounds fabulous! To basically have an unlimited supply of books sounds wonderful! :) Do you have a kindle? My husband does and he can't put it down; he takes it everywhere. I think its super glued to his hand. LOL He keeps telling me I need one, but I'm old fashioned and love the feel of a book, turning the pages and yes..even the smell of the fresh printed pages. LOL I guess I'm a dinosaur? hahaa
I've heard of 29 Palms. There was this neighbor of mine (she got kicked off post for punching an officers wife) who's husband went Marine to Army, they moved from there to here. I hope she wasn't your neighbor; she was what I'd call very mean hearted.
I'll have to look at Bradbury; does that author do mysteries?
Have a wonderful evening! :)

Working from home is wonderful, huh? I love it because I have a 4 month old daughter, so I can stay home with her all day. She actually loves to sit on my lap while I am working lol :) I've been thinking about getting a Kindle but I'm worried that I'll break it(I'm very clumsy). Maybe for Christmas? :) I used to live right next to an Army post in Arizona, the name was Fort Huachuca. Very beautiful area! I'd love to move back there someday. Bradbury does a lot of sci-fi and perhaps sci-fi mystery. I've only read Fahrenheit 451 which is a collection of his stories, and it was weird but good. You have a great night as well!
