I believe this will work with laptops and desktops only. The benefit here is that if you have more than 1 computer at your home and needed the other computer to get on the internet wirelessly you would use this adapter to connect to your wireless network. Assuming you have a wireless router already in place. This would connect to any available USB slot on your computer.

you need to have a cisco wireless router. then you plug this for example into your desktop then ur desktop is now able to pick up cisco's wireless. so it's a wireless adapter to make things that need wired connections to make em wireless. but again you NEED a cisco wireless router for this to work. hope that helps :)

Actually, any wireless router would work. I am using one of these Cisco USB wireless adapters with a Linksys Router.

OOoops my bad, Just remember. Cisco and Linksys is one and the same. However, if you had a Belkin router this adapter would still work.
