The 1985 has a couple things going on.

First is the surface. It has striations. Second is that in God we trust is struck on the rim. Looks like when it was pressed, somehow and indentation was made from the reverse rim, making the legend to be on the rim. The striations don't show up in pics, but you can easily see it in hand. Some kind of lamination error.
