"You'll enjoy the 300 mouth-watering recipes (but not all included is the recipe for Kerosene Cucumbers) for foods served by Aunt Bee and others in Mayberry." What does the statement in the parenthesis mean, exactly? Thanks, Joanne! Linda

Hi Linda,

Kerosene Cucumbers recipe is not included in this cookbook because no one would ever admit to Aunt Bee's homemade pickles being the worst they had ever tasted. In the show, Andy switched hers with store-bought ones to avoid having to eat Aunt Bee's "Kerosene Cucumbers".
Her decision to enter them in the county fair presented a quite a dilemma. :):)

Thanks for your question and have a blessed day! Joanne

Oooooooooooh, that makes sense, it was the "but not all included" that had me confused, you meant "not included," apparently, which makes sense to me...if you know what I'm saying, and I did a Youtube search and came up with this video of the exact pickle dilemma you speak of and am enjoying watching Andy and Barney dealing with said pickles! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfhClelZbCU

Reminds me of my late husband's sister-in-law's homemade barbeque sauce, they were from Northern Florida, it was called, named and labeled, "Marie's Home-maid Battery Acid." How's that appeal to you? My husband LOVED it, course he wouldn't eat anything without Tabasco sauce or Sriracha poured all over it!

Sorryyyyyyyyyy, TheMamaBear ~~
Home-maid Battery Acid does not appeal to me at all. However, I think my hubby would certainly LOVE it! He always puts Tabasco sauce and other sauces on his food. :) The hotter the better!
