To the person that wrote me on this, I am commenting on here, just in case anyone else has the same question... this is not a solid egg, it seems hollow because it is light, We have a traveling antique show that runs through here once every other month and they said when Ukraine accepted Christianity they started making these eggs that are called pysanka starting from 988 AD. So there is history to these and popular for many collectors, they also said if they are numbered, they are more valuable for a certain either famous or not artist made a certain amount. The only thing I could find elsewhere on line on these were in the folk lore column that said. "Many superstitions were have been said to the pysanky. Pysanky protect the household from evil spirits, lightning, fires and from bad things happening. A blessed pysanka could be used to find demons hidden in the dark corners of your house and were sought after by witches, demons, and wizards.
Pysanky held powerful magic, and had to be disposed of properly, lest a witch get a hold of one.people and sicken them" The Pysanks originated in Ukraine and included, wooden eggs, as well as jeweled, and regular eggs, that were decorated and painted, when they accepted Christianity. Sorry, I know you just asked if it was solid or hallow, but this was all I know on it, and maybe someone else out there has the same question... thanks.
