Most mints are started from stem cuttings or root divisions. With few exceptions, vegetative propagation is the only way to get true to variety mints. Horse mint is a hybrid. True mint is propagated vegetatively, so you may get varying results from seeds. The scent may be stronger or less prominent when grown from seed.

Here's the thing. I really like mint & used to have a spearmint at my old place. It took over the yard! Now, can I plant different types of mint in one big container or will they need to be separated to prevent cross " breeding"? My sister's white roses interconnected with her red ones & formed one bush that produced red & white roses. Make any sense? Thanks!

oh, that is a interesting point. Im not sure because Ive always kept them apart. But I know for sure the lemon and horse mint wont cross breed with the others.

No problem. I will just keep them in separate containers. Thanks!
