“Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” on DVD is the third installment of the live-action movie remake of the children’s animated series. This children’s comedy showcases a great movie soundtrack, with the Chipmunks (voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Grey Gubler, and Jesse McCartney) and Chipettes (Amy Poehler, Anna Farris, Christina Applegate) covering many popular songs kids and adults will both enjoy. “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” kicks off when the Chipmunks and Chipettes take a family vacation with Dave (Jason Lee) and wreak havoc on the ship with their usual shenanigans. When the Chipmunks disappear after a parasailing mishap, Dave enlists the help of his old boss to try to find them. The Chipmunks end up on an island and face challenges including erupting volcanoes, kidnapping, and spider bites in this children’s comedy. Rated G by the MPAA, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” is an entertaining movie for the family. The DVD has a run time of 87 minutes.
