Spanish Peseta coins were minted in "series". The 1975 series were all marked 1975 for many years. On the reverse of the coin (like the 1957 series before it) is a small star with a tiny number printed in it. This number is the true year the coin was minted. This coin carries the number 78 which means it was minted in 1978.
