Two official first day of issue envelopes from the Tropical Flowers series.

These stamps have THE WRONG ZIP CODE printed on them, making them very collectable and rare!

Both envelopes issued May 1st 1999, with Honolulu, HI 98620 printed on the postmark.

These two envelopes are mint - and also come with a card to explain the error:

"Your Tropical Flowers First Day Covers are philatelic rarities. The Official First Day of issue cancellation (May 1st 1999_, applied by the US Postal service, contained a postmark error. The zip code for Honolulu, Hawaii is not 98620, it is 96820. -- 98620 is the zip code for Goldendale, washington.

The US postal service has advised us that they discovered the error after the first day of issue ceremony had taken place. Therefor, Honolulu, Hawaii 98620 is the official first day of issue postmark for the tropical flowers issue."

ENVELOPES IN MINT CONDITION.

IMPORTANT - envelope DOES have name and address on it, but has been edited out for posting photos online. You can always white it out, or leave it there. It doesn't effect value, since all first day issues are "sent" to you.
