"S" Mint Walking LIberty Half Dollar
One of the most magnificent designs in American coinage, this Walking Liberty HAlf Dollar (1916-1947) bears the distinctive "S" mint mark from the historic San Francisco Mint. The oldest branch mint, it opened it's doors in 1854. A.A. Wienman's legendary design, struck in .900 Fine Silver, features Liberty reaching out to welcome the dawn of a new day. Dressed in a garment reap resenting the American flag, Liberty wears the traditional Phrygian cap as a symbol of freedom.
