I know it says silver stud post, but are these hypoallergenic? They would be a gift for someone who needs that and I'm not exactly sure how to identify it.

I cannot remember as horrible as that sounds. I wear them and they do not bother me. They are not fancy sterling silver like a jewelry store would offer. They were purchased at Hobby Lobby jewelry making supplies section. I wish I could remember more to better answer.
