oh you are exactly right! I had never thought of that - I wonder if it would work as the center of the Jane Austen quilt? I can't remember the center block size right off, I've been making that quilt for a few years now (!) but I still don't have a center block.

There is no fabric included and no it's not counted cross stitch. The pattern is traced on to your own fabric.
