Questions & Comments
It's really not hard to get into starting a business like this, just have to have the money (I started my business with$%5000) and a small store type place to set up shop in. A garage could be used as a shop as long as local/state business rules etc are followed. My uncle in IN sold out of his garage 5 days a week for sometime..Then found out to do that he had to have a permit for a business like that. So to get around the business part of it, he just opened 3 days a week and called it a yard sale..lol..It worked!
I'm sorry to about about your grandma and grandpas. :(. Both my grandpas died and my granny on my moms side died. I was very close to her. My other grandma I hardly see she never likes us. :(. I go see her, but she doesn't want me there long. She has her favorites. :( yes it's hard to deal with me because I lost the one that loved me. :(. This one was always mean. :( don't want nothing happen to her either, but you know what I mean. When I see her and get treated badly it ruins my whole day. :( week I should say. :(
Yall are awsome tyvm for your kindness, my granny is watching this auction and having a blast with it she keeps trying to give me more stuff to list lol the only thing she hasnt offered me is her teef lol shes such a hoot
Hi, just wanted to tell you I'm so happy your auction is/has been going pretty good so far. I figured it would since he item you are selling is Depression carnival class candy dish. I would like to suggest a site that maybe the winner could find a replacement lid, Replacements.com. If Replacements doesn't have one maybe the winner can ho to the Kovels website, look up the candy dish and email Kovels to see if they would have information on how to find/get a lid. It also may be possible a lid could be found at an Estate sale or maybe in a antique/thrift shop. Happy Auctioning!!!! Will email you later...Have a great day!
I will check with my dad and see i might be able to tell you more about it at least he is antique dealer and has handled lots of glasswear over the years christina
i was wondering does it have any kind of marking on the bottom or a signature or stamp of the maker or does have a lump in the center on the bottom these tell a lot about age and value
You're are so very welcome. And thank you so much for the nice compliment. That was sweet of you. If you ever have questions on things like your candy dish or other collectible/antique and want to see if I have or can find to give you more information before you list, I am happy to assist you however I can. Hope your evening tonight was a good one and your day tomorrow is a great one. Happy Holidays and safe, dream fulfilled New Year!
Your welcome. I loved doing research on collectibles and vintage things when I had my shop. I'd go to estate sales and bid against some bigger antique dealers and had a ball...I miss those days....
No biggy if, it has no lid.. May be able to find a lid at a later date at an Estate sale or something... It is a red gold depression carnival glass candy dish. About 20 yrs ago I owned a resale shop where I resold antiques/collectibles and other misc items. I had one of these candy dishes and really loved it but b/c I was in the resale business I had to put it on the shelf for sale. I wanted to keep it. It reminds me of my great grandmother. Anyway there is a lid for this candy dish but many times because the dish was used as a daily item ,most times way back when, lids were broken and the dishes survived. ..Thank you so much for the auction. Happy bidding to all and to all who read djlox's replies,,,Happy Holidays to you all also...:)
Tyvm for sharing your story with me, you are very kind. My granny said she got it from her granny and as u said, she said there may have been a lid but the kids were in the dish for candy and she never thought about a lid lol. Happy Holidays to you and yours as well. GOD BLESS
