I have a beautiful gold- tone ring with an interesting gem that is a size 6. I won this in a lot of Sterling rings off eBay; however, I'm unsure of the metal and even with a magnifying glass I cannot make out either mark on the inside of the ring so I'm calling this gold-tone as not to mislead anyone. The gem itself I'm unsure if it was painted to give it that shine or if it's solid all the way through I will say the shine completely surrounds the entire gem
