The listing, 1959 PROOF Franlin Half Dollar 90% Silver has ended.
What I have here is a beautiful 90% SILVER 1959 Proof Franklin Half Dollar. The pictures are of the exact coin you will receive. This is a 3 day auction and ends on Monday. I will get it in the mail right after I get the winners address and it should arrive in time for Christmas....No guarantee! But you will get a real nice coin.
I used to do just sports cards. Coins seem to interest more people. I just haven't figured out if it is worth it...to me? Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I'll be 60 in a couple months also. I been collecting for around 45 years. I enjoy coin collecting very much, up until a few years ago I would not part with any of my coins, but recently I have sold off a lot of my miscellaneous coins. I'm not ready to part with all my completed sets and almost complete sets, really hope to complete some more of them before I expire. lol
Ken, Sounds like we are in the same boat. I do have one collection ASE complete set, which I must get a 2012 soon, I would never part with that. Can't afford the gold (wish I could have along the way) but the silver just seems to catch my eyes. Then I have a Disabled American silver coin, it stays too. Silver is so up and down, you just never know. Thanks for the conversation. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thanks and I fanned you! I just think some want to be experts at everything, but I myself am not an expert of anything. But hey, you and I and others enjoy what we do. That's enough for me.
I hope you realize I enhanced your status by a considerable amount while faced with a perilous situation with no regard for my own safety. Now you have to put up with me for another 16 hours
I appreciate your thoughts and willingness to help? me. I don't have any idea, but the little square in the upper right hand corner, when I click on it +1 pops up. What does that mean? I hope it's good.
I know, if I ever need guidance I know who to contact. I can always use you as a referral? permission? lol I spent 1 1/2+ years back in '75' to '77 in Germany and I cruised the Autobahns. I served my country by giving up 3 years of my life. 1974-1977, but I feel like I have been through a war here. jk
Yes, of course they use polished dies and if these proofs were to come into contact with another coin can you just imagine how bad a proof would look with dings and scratches! I give up.
~~~This is a "Proof" coin~~~It has mirrored fields and anybody that knows anything about coins would see that! Not all proof coins are graded nor are they all in Government packaging. The same with baseball cards. You can buy ungraded cards? Mint Proof sets are sets that contain all coins from a particular year and are encased either in a hard plastic case or the older ones in a brown envelope in a soft plastic holder.
What a moron. The proof state of a coin doesn't magically disappear when you take it out of the original government packaging. Then I guess the grader waves a magic wand and it is magically transformed back to proof in a graded slab.
You run into a lot coin experts on here. lol They really tried me on some of my first listing on here, but knowledgeable coin enthusiast should know to take their comments lightly and realize that at one time they didn't know a lot either. There are so many myths out there that unless you read and study about coins and grading, you can make yourself look pretty dumb when you talk about coins with someone that is knowledgeable in numismatics. Just saying
Ken, You got that right and I shouldn't have bothered to even reply to that post. I am 60 years old and been collecting coins for many of those years. I pride myself in being honest, and I admit there are some (lots of) things about coins that I don't know squat about. I am disabled, and for me this is my playtime I enjoy my coins!
NatureLovinPagan sure has alot of fans out there ...i still can't understand why he does it ...trashes peoples auctions ? can't we just have fun on this site ? ...and any serious coin collector knows that proofs and uncirculated coins are made from two different dies ...double striked and polished ...oh well some people just have to be how they are ...wonder why he never bids on any coin auctions ?
How are you doing, James. Yes, it takes all kinds of people to make the world go 'round. This good natured person on 11/11/11 won a 2006 mint proof set and I guess he thinks all proof coins should come in a complete mint set. Oh well. I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
