Size;32x19x7 mm.
Fire agate is a very interesting form of agate, where microscopic crystals of limonite have arranged themselves within the layers to form bubbly sheets of colorful fire. This is a lovely cabochon, rather unusual for its extra-dark base and the regular shape of its cutting (normally fire agates have to be cut freeform to capture the fire). It shows a mixture of many different subtle hues of fire, especially greens and oranges, forming a pattern that almost looks like moon-lit clouds.

It sure is! I've never seen a fire agate 'in person', and I really hope to win this one! But as the auction finishes at about 4am for me, I think I'll have to wait for morning to find out if my bid was successful. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
