Here’s an Archie book for young readers—or those with really short attention spans. Less a comic and more of a joke book starring Archie’s best pal, Jughead’s Jokes features ultra-short cartoons, vignettes, games and single-page stories, always with Juggy delivering one of his classic acerbic punchlines. Most of the Archie cast—including Archie, Reggie, Moose, Mr. Weatherbee, Miss Grundy, and, of course, Jughead’s quasi-girlfriend Ethel—put in regular appearances. This 5-time-per-year series was typically giant-sized, and mostly composed with reprints of short filler material and one-pagers from decades of various Archie comics, specials, annuals and digests. It’s not traditional comics fare, nor is it the deepest reading, but whether you like clean jokes, fun sight-gags or a handful of puzzle pages, you or your kid will find something to like in this laugh-out-loud comic.
