does it come with the car plug--so it can charge the ipod when in use

it didn't come with a car plug. you don't need one. just attach it to the bottom of your iPod and it's good to go.

plug what into? the only thing the iTrip plugs into is the iPod

in to car--then it well charge ur ipod at the same time---unless that just the newer one that do that
