Is it similar to what a jeweler's loop does? Or is there some kind of light or indicator that goes off to alert the user that the currency is counterfeit?

Or is it the user's job to decipher whether the currency is counterfeit by looking at the money with the 60x magnifier? Which one is it?

I am just curious to how it works exactly?
