Description
The listing, iomega Zip Drive plus Zip Disks has ended.
Up for auction is one iomega internal Zip drive for a PC. I am also including 6 blank "Zip 100" disks in a plastic desk caddy. The drive is an iomega Model Z100ATAPI. Manuals and specs are available at https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14432#zip1. Drive currently has brackets installed to mount it in a normal CD/DVD drive slot in a PC case. The brackets can be removed and the drive will then fit in a normal floppy drive slot. Connections are ATAPI (parallel). Install it just like an IDE CD drive.
Disks are iomega Zip 100 model. Each holds 100 Mb of data (that's the "raw" capacity, as with any magnetic drive, the formatted capacity is slightly less). Disks were used once and then erased. Even though the picture shows "Formatted for Macintosh" on the case, I have reformatted them for PC/Windows.. They can be reformatted for Macintosh if you have a Macintosh equipped with a Zip drive.
Questions & Comments
I am interested in this.... but it seems to me that it would fit in a smaller flat rate box. Is there any way of dropping the shipping on it?
From what I see on USPS.com the next smaller box is 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8" The drive is 1.75 inches high. Can not squeeze it in a 1-5/8 tall box bare, let alone add any packing material to protect it. Sorry, i don' see a way. Buit, I am open to suggestions. I certainly do not intend to make a profit on the shipping.
