Unless you are paying for a packing service, all of those shipping quotes seem awfully high for such a lightweight sewing machine (compared to the vintage and antique metal ones) without a case. I have shipped machines for over 15 years, and shipping would more likely run about $20-40, depending on locations. To get a better estimate, weigh the machine, then add about 5 pounds for your packaging, then use a package size of about 18"x23"x15" which should accomodate most any sewing machine without a case. UPS does include free insurance, which is a plus, and that is correct that it will likely be a bit cheaper on heavier items. You can go to the website to get an estimate. I would hate for you to scare-off potential bidders with the shipping quotes that are way more than it is actually going to cost. I just shipped a Pfaff embroidery machine and embroidery unit in 2 separate packages to Germany for about $200 (total) priority mail insured, and I just received an all-metal machine in its case that I bought on Listia from several states away for about $20 USPS. Good luck on the listing, and I hope this information might help!

Hi, Yes I know that those quotes are high. The machine is not boxed up yet, I used the total packaging weight it was when i received it to give quotes. It definitely won't cost as much as I quoted, but people asked for estimates.

Again. If after I tell the winner what the shipping costs are, and they think it's too much, then I I will give back the credits no questions asked.

The best way to ship this would be parcel post as its the cheapest method, it will take a little longer but if you insure it you would be covered.

Have you tried the UPS site yet? They will come pick it up and insurance is included.
I use it thru PayPal sometime when things are odd size/weight. I assume it will be 80-$110.00 to 49090?

hi there, no it probably won't cost that much. I have my own discounted rate that I receive when I ship stuff. and since It's not boxed and ready to roll, the quote is no where near accurate (from USPS site)

Shipping via UPS would be FAR less in cost. You may want to look into that. USPS is cheaper when shipping lightweight items, but not heavy items. UPS is expensive for lightweight items but more economical for heavy things. A good rule of thumb (one that I use)....if it's light, go with USPS.....if it's heavy, go with UPS. (The only drawback to UPS, is that the buyer MUST have a residential address....they don't ship to PO boxes).

USPS says $107.00, but I know it will be much lower than that. BUT like I said earlier, if you win and after a more accurate calculation you deem the shipping costs are too high, I will give your credits back.

**NOTE**This is my first auction and since the shipping will more than likely be high as this machine is heavy. If the winner decides they do not want to pay the shipping fees for their address, I will return the credits.

it looks like it's going to estimate $87.02 to 38351 and $85.83 to 28214.
Those are just estimates though.
