Description

The listing, OLD TELEPHONE STOCK CERTIFICATE has ended.

Over 100 year old stock certificate for the Campbell(Nebraska)Telephone Company issued January 30, 1908. Certificate number 87 for one share at $25 a share. The stock issue raised $7,000 to start a local telephone service in this Franklin County community. The company would later merge with neighboring communities to form a small regional telephone company that survives today. The graphic shows Lady Liberty holding an old fashioned telephone to her ear and telephone lines running down to a village behind her and small child at her lap. The certificate also has the raised seal of the Campbell Telehone Co.

The century old telephone stock certificate is a must for the telephone employee. historian, or telephone history collector. This is a beautiful old certificate in the old style of stock certificate printing and looks fantastic framed. Good luck.

No the Campbell Phone Company mereged with the Glenwood Telephone Company and is now headquartered out of Blue Hill, Nebraska, a small town south of Hastings, and serves a number of south central Nebraska communities. The merger was way back in the 1930's so the certificate has only historical and artistic value. The certificates do look lovely framed however as a part of a by gone era.

Mike3303 is a wonderful Auctioneer. Anyone would be lucky to win one of his Great Pieces of History.
I wish I was around when stock was this cheap. Of course back then it was a lot. But to own a piece of Telephone History would be great... I'm watching and waiting to bid too.
