The name identifies the origin of this wonderful Picture Jasper however there is very little of it left on the market today. There has not been a lot come into the US for several years now. It is sometimes mistaken for Biggs Jasper; however the formations of color are very different when you see the two together. It is easy to see how the “AFRICAN QUEEN” Picture Jasper got its name for it is really a QUEEN among all Picture Jaspers.
