I don't have alot of these left and they are going FAST.
This listing is for 12 seeds.
These are awesome, and sell fast at a local farm-stand. decorated or not... hollowed out , dried, painted..or fresh from the field.
I hollow out and dry when they are fresh, less work in the spring and the seeds are always in great condition for the following year's planting. Plus they dry quickly , and make great inside winter time projects, especially for Spring and Summer decorating.... etc etc etc....
As easy to grow as other vine crops.
The ideas for these is just about endless, imagine the possibilities...
A good site to gather ideas is Marthas Gourds, but - getting the seeds out when they are fresh seems to be best, and they dry faster, more evenly- when the outer skin peels off, so do any blemishes. This was hollowed out 11/06/2011 and it has been ready to work with, paint up, what ever...since about a week before Christmas..
I can also provide more tips and ideas. Alot easier to clean out when they are fresh, PLUS the seeds go quick on here and auction sites, notice in the photo there are ALOT of seeds in these.BIG seeds. as you can see in some pics, I choose to clean mine out while they are fresh before they dry.. it works out better and much easier.

What exactly is it other than a gourd? i ain't never seen something like this before.

It is a gourd, a large gourd, they can be decorated and used for many , many things. Fresh from Harvest or dried. They are great money makers, fresh or dried, decorated, painted, or not. Bird houses, bird feeders, painted as swans- 3-D or not. Planters, Cut off, used for planters, bowls etc.. flower arrangements... anything . The ideas are endless. Fresh Harvest, plain... like in photo--sell for $4.00 to $7.00 each.. prices go up from there, depending on what is done with them. Just the seeds from one can be sold for quite a profit.

I have another batch of 12 seeds ..same type. listed . Arts and Crafts. or click my name and find it on that page. Ends about the same time this listing ends. I don't have many left, maybe 1 or 2 more listings of 12- IF I do decide to list them. I may decide to plant all that I have and make a bunch of money from the during and after harvest and ... sell decorated ones, dried ones.. ? Christmas Swans.. We have whistling swans here all winter - all year. ..Valentines Swans- 2 - together- necks forming a heart... etc etc etc frog houses, bird houses/feeders etc... the ideas are endless.
