Congratulations on your weight loss. I know what an effort it can be (as I managed to lose 35lbs last year and have hopes to do as well if not better this year). It is delightful to hear that you have a happy and supportive relationship with your honey. And welcome to The Listia Community. I hope you have a ton of fun around here!
I weighed almost 300 lbs, and wore a size 24-26. I lost over 160 lbs, and now wear size 2 jeans. This is us in the profile picture. We just got married in August.
Meg, That is a stupendous accomplishment. I am finding that focusing on five pound increments is working for me, and makes it much easier to forgive myself. I also realize that it is a process and that faster weight loss expectations just set me up for disappointment and failure. You are an inspiration to all of us who struggle with the frustration, disappoinment and societal stigma in and around being a large person in this country. Best wishes for your continued success on Listia, in love and in Life. Namaste, "empowermenthouse"
Finding what works for oneself and then sticking to it is the key, I applaud you for following the truth that is you, listening to your own body, and allowing it to do what it knows is right. In the end, that is what will always make us happy!
congrats as well. I got to 400 pounds and lost 180. I am still not small but soooo much healthier and happy. My body seemed to stop above 200. I would love to get below but very happy honestly with my size 16 after being so large I couldn't even buy clothes in the 'big girl' section.
Let me tell you something, YOU ARE SIMPLY AMAZING, at any size, but what an stupendous feat, I do know! Your body will stop where it is supposed to stop, that is what my doc tells me, and sometimes, it sits and stews for awhile, and then just takes off again. I sat at 150 for the longest time and boom dropped 15 more, and have been between 130 and 135 for the last year or so. I never ever in my wildest dreams imagined I was this small underneath, but love your body for the gift of God that it is and most of all for the people who love you no matter what size you are. You go girl!!
You look amazing, girl, and you are right, God is great! This picture of me is with my new husband, just since August, waited 28 years for him, we had a wonderful wedding, and he is a special man of God. I went from a size 9 ring to a 7. Can't go any lower because of my big knuckles, but I have a gorgeous wedding set from Mark, pear shaped diamond, I always dreamed of. God is great!
They are large stones, especially the pear shaped stone which is my personal favorite. They are just too big for me following weight loss and I have a wonderful pear shape diamond in my wedding set that my wonderful husband gave me just this last spring!
Just stopped in to take a peek at how your auction was doing...got to read through some of the entries before me! How amazing all of you are for all of your accomplishments!!! My heartfelt congratulations to all!!!
BIDDERS, WATCHERS, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO KNOW- one of my lovely watchful fans took the time to point out to me that I had made a rather silly error in my listing, especially for a math professor's kid! I, and I quote, stated there are "six graduating stones" when indeed we can all see there are clearly only FIVE graduating stones with the one in the middle being the largest. I sincerely apologize for my temporary inability to count, and for any confusion it may cause. Thank you, D. for catching my error, and for your suggestion and encouragement. You are the real gem here!
