Size 5 sling fits a L/XL shirt size. Purchased when pregnant and am over that weight now ;)

Yes it can be used for a newborn and I actually preferred a sling for my little ones. Size 5 refers to the size of the wearer (mom or dad) !

Yes as long as the size (5 L or XL) is right for you you can carry a small baby or a toddler..
