When you purchase a minutes card, the card has usage minutes and a length of time to use them. This phone has minutes on it but the length of time has expired.

I am not sure, but if you could get it unlocked I dont see why not. I saw somebody else on listia selling a sim unlocker so I guess this would be possible.

i live here in the mountains of nevada net 10 n straigh talk are about the only thing that comes in, as far as a cell phone goes.

It takes a sim card but the phone is locked to net 10. If you had a sim unlocker or another way to unlock it then my guess is yes! Its easier to unlock a phone with a sim card.
