yes, its very heavy, I've owned it for over 45 years and got it at an antique store back when I found it. What do you think? Stays shinny like this all the time.

I would say it's silverplated if there are no "925" or "STERLING" marks, and especially if it stays "shiny all the time" real sterling silver will tarnish

yes silverplated or silver EP (electroplate) does - much like non-sterling silverware you use everyday :)
