It is depression glass & a rare piece because the pattern is open lace & most of those anymore have the "lace" cracked or broken in 1 place or another. Never heard of putting olives around the lace pattern tho. We collected that pattern for 30 yrs. Bought every pristine piece we found. It all started with my aunt/godmother's open lace cookie jar. Nice piece you have here. We ended up selling 30 yrs of antiques and glass at auction when we retired. I am going to keep an eye on this tho.
Thank you for all the good info, I don't know anything about it. Just that it was my Aunt's. I do like the olive idea would make for a cute setting. If you get a chance can you check out my other dish? I don't know anything about that one. Thank you for taking your time to stop by my auction.
None of them have markings on them. Believe me, I do know depression glass & this is the open lace pattern. Depression glass ppl got in boxes of soap, maybe at a move & why there isn't a huge abundance of it. People threw out the "cheap" as they referred to it dishes, etc. We spent 30 yrs doing nothing but collecting open lace depression glass and many antique. We sold it all at a 9 hr auction, Just OUR belongings. VERY profitable & it was how we saved for retirement, yet enjoyed 30 yrs of having beautiful pieces & auctions, flea markets & yard.estate sales was what we did for fun. I will look at your other auctions tomorrow.
