Sorry for incomplete answer-I hit send by accident. The diameter of caddy is almost 12 inches. The 4 wheels are 10 apart., you have to attach the wheels which is simple. I have one and move a large plant to the porch on it and the plant weighs approx 75 lb. The new package does not say how much it will hold. But I moved a large plant like I said. I am also going to list another one after this caddy is sold.

It appears to be very thick plastic with metal wheels.
