Living in todays troubled times, with crime rates at an all time high, skyrocketing suicide rates, increased living costs making people desperate, a time where 80 yr old women get punched by men at the super market for standing to close to them in line, School security guards slam 13 yr old girls head first into concrete because she didnt hear him tell her he wanted to talk and she was waling away, where hate crimes and riots are in the news daily, where our law enforcement are so afraid and jumpy that they have come to more closely resemble the criminal than our protectors, it has become increasingly hard to keep the faith for a brighter tomorrow and the hope of a better future so this piece is meant as a visual reminder that things are darkest before the dawn and that though it may be harder to see and finding it may require some effort there is still good and beauty in the world. the soft hues were chosen as a reminder to stay soft and not become angry and bitter at the unfortunate circumstances we may find ourselves in. to remain open and giving instead of conforming to the "Looking out for #1 attitude that seems so prevalent in todays world and to always look for the bright side, after all kindness may be harder to come by, but when we do encounter it how much more grateful and appreciative are we to find it. and honesty and integrity are prized and valued all the more for being such a rare commodity.
