Description

The listing, Boho Chic! Like Vintage Jewelry? How about a 65 million year old ammonite fossil pendant necklace? has ended.

I am giving away a genuine white gold-plated ammonite fossil pendant necklace! What a conversation piece! The pendant is 3.5 cm long x 2.8 cm wide, or 1 3/8" long X 1 1/16" wide. The chain is 18" long. First pic is of the front and third pic is of the back. Please note that the "holes" in the pendant are actually filled with natural crystals. They are not defects, and they are part of the ammonite.

I discovered (to my surprise) that the pendant's bail and setting are white-gold plated! I was surpised because there is no stamp on the metal. The chain is not gold-plated (there is not stamp on it either). I tested the metal with my gold tester, and the two brown spots on the tester paper indicate that the bail is gold-plated. I have no idea what the carat amount is, though, and it was kind of a challenge for me to test. My guess would be 10K, but it's just a guess. Please see the results in the last pic.

If you want to learn more about ammonite fossils, you can go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonite or here: http://skywalker.cochise.edu/wellerr/students/ammonites/ammonites.htm Did you know that the original discus that the Greeks used in their Olympic games was actually a fossilized ammonite? Yeah, I learned that tidbit from the second website. These links are provided to you only for informational purposes; thus, they are not against the Listia rules.

The necklace comes from a smoke-free, hairy pet-free home (I have a snake and gecko, but they can do no harm). S&H is FREE & includes tracking!

I will only ship to addresses that have been verified via Listia's shipping address rules (check out Listia rules: Shipping Addresses section or go directly to the form at: http://www.listia.com/account/addresses) and that have been sent to me directly through Listia (and not through e-mail), which can be done after the auction. If you are not willing to send me your shipping address directly through Listia, then I cannot ship this to you.

Thanks! Some might say that I "overshare", but I want to make sure that the winner of my auctions is happy with the item.

Thanks! I would just hate to have a bidder be unhappy with anything that I give away because I failed to disclose something. It only happened to me once: I sold a genuine marcasite ring and the bidder told me that after she wore it for a little bit, the marcasites fell out! I believed her because when I received it, it was missing a marcasite (I had it fixed, though, before I listed it). Fortunately, she left me positive feedback anyway. I offered a refund, but she didn't want it. So, to make up for it, I sent her a genuine marcasite necklace as a surprise (and made sure the the marcasites would not fall out before sending it).

i traded a marcasite set with a regular swapper friend of mine but she was not familiar with it and kept trying to clean it (maybe she thought that it was sterling silver). yeah, sometimes things just happen, that is simply not within your control. in all my listings, i state that i do make mistakes from time to time (human after all) but i also try to correct them- include extras or send additional extras. well, for the most part, had a few problems in my near-500 history of listings here.

I agree. And, that's why I like it when bidders/sellers like you, who are sensible and try to do the right thing, visit my auctions!
