Questions & Comments
So these are the new 45 stamps? How did you get them already? Cause if it is not 45 stamp then it will effect shippers, not by some huge thing or anything, but if these are not 45 stamps, then each time they use it will have to pay the postal office they extra penny, or apply two stamps to the package.
Thank for asking. Forever stamps are sold at the current rate and in the event of a rate increase, like tomorrow, forever stamps actually increase in value so you don't have to add the extra make up postage. That is why they are called forever stamps. There is no new 45 cent stamps. The same exact forever stamps will be sold at 45 cents tomorrow. Check out my name: Postmaster!!
Sorry I was just going by what the lady at my local post office told me last week? Figured I would try to be informed for everyone. Not rude or trying to be, I promise, after all it wouldn't change but a penny difference. Just figured everyone would want to know. I am gonna go back and talk to our actual post master on Monday, cause the lady at the counter, when I went to buy a book of forever stamps told me to use them quickly cause they would change on Sunday, and would mean I would have to add the penny, etc etc. Lady been working there for YEARS so I assumed she was right, but dunno....Everything hear must be backwards, cause like our forever stamps actually say 44 of them, where i have heard nobody else does? That doesn't make sense to me either...LOL. Leave it for Alabama to do everything backwards.
Not all stamps are forever. If they say 44 on them they are not forever and the lady at the post office is correct. All of the stamps issued in the past whole year have been forever stamps so any with 44 cents were issued more than a year ago. Forever stamps don't have a denomination on them. They say forever. Check the picture. I am glad you asked!
