The listing, BEAUTIFUL BLUE LOBELIA, PERENNIAL 50+ SEEDS has ended.
Also known as Great Blue Lobelia, is a flowering perennial that produces blue blooms that attract hummingbirds. It can be grown from seed in USDA zones 2 through 9. To start indoors
Fill a shallow, flat growing container with 2 to 3 inches of soil and sow the seeds about 1/4-1/2 inch below the surface. Scatter the seeds only a couple of inches apart, as they will be transplanted immediately after germination.
Wet down the soil thoroughly, but not so much that it is soggy. Place the container in an area that receives plenty of light--either sunlight or under growing lights. Keep the soil moist over the next two to three weeks until germination occurs.
Transplant the small seedlings into small individual growing containers or trays four to six weeks after germination. .
Keep the peat soil moist over the next four weeks as the seedlings grow and establish themselves. Feed the young seedlings with a balanced liquid plant fertilizer once every 2 weeks.
Transplant into pots or inground after all danger of frost has passed. You can also plant the seeds in ground after the last frost of your area. I find this works best for me. Directions are the same. They are beautiful small bunched flowers that come back for you year after year. You can transplant more the second year by using a spade and digging up a small mound of the plant making sure it has roots and plant any where else.
