Description

The listing, Nightblooming Cereus has ended.

This is one leaf from my own plant.Easily rooted by just sticking it in water or in the dirt.It blooms every Sept. at night.I always put it out during warm weather. It does need to be staked in the pot. If you live where it never freezes you can plant it in your yard. It gets huge ,but the flowers are something you look forward to each Sept., because they are 6 to 8 inches across and all the air is filled with their wonderful fragrance. They are so delicate and only stay open for a few hours. I would set up just to see them in bloom.Usually around midnight. It's really sad that they close so soon. They are the most beautiful flower i have ever seen or smelled.Happy Bidding!

Nightblooming Cereus is the common name referring to a large number of flowering cereus cacti that bloom at night. Because of the short life of the flowers, the nightblooming cereus has a romanticized reputation and has given rise to erroneous beliefs, such as that the plants bloom only once a year, or only on nights when the moon is full[citation needed] The nightblooming cereus is also referred to as Princess of the Night, Honolulu Queen (for Hylocereus undatus, commonly grown in Hawaii), Queen of the Night, or Reina de la Noche.
