I love them for the protection. I have a light pink one, my oldest daughter has a hot pink one, my youngest has the purple one and hubby has a black one. only thing bad about the darker colored ones is you cant see the num lock and the caps lock "light" thats why I like the clear or lighter color ones my self. even though I do use the handy cap setting so ding when the num lock & caps lock keys are turned on or off.

kind of thick plastic you just place it right over the keyboard you can pull it off and on no stickyness at all you would be amazed how dirty it gets in a weeks time you just take it off clean it put it right back on. major protection you wont even notice it there like typing on the regular keyboard if not better
