From the top of the heart to the last link of chain, it is 3". But if they are too long, you can always remove a few links of the hanging chains with a pair of wire cutters. :) Thanks for checking them out. They really are awesome. When I bought these at auction I went back and bought myself a pair too. I waited until they came back up for auction, luckily they had two pair, and I bid on them again. And they aren't heavy when you wear them either.
