Nice. I have a Betta that needs a small tank due to a swim bladder issue. This would be much better than what he is in now.

Hey, if this is your first Betta, I'll warn you, they are addicting! I currently have five. I so wish they could cohabitate though. Can you just picture a 55 gallon tank w/about 30 of them in there? Oooo, aaahhh. Nice to imagine anyway! :)

Bettas don't NEED a filter, makes life easier for caregiver. Heater is good if your house gets cold. I have most of mine w/filters, again, easier for me, not a necessity. I did put a heater in one tank, as our house does get cold, the other gets heat from the incandescent bulb. One has neither. As for size of tank, I find they are more active and live longer in smaller areas. One has a 2.5 tank, this tank has housed many Bettas, all fairly inactive, don't live past 2. Smaller tanks invite a more engaged fish who lives longer. Have had Bettas going over 20 years, in MANY size tanks, and this is what I have found to be matter of course.

These are definitely perfect for Betta fish. My daughter bought one yesterday for her tank and the fish went crazy and absolutely loved having more space. :)

The issue I'm having now w/my swim bladder problem Betta is there is a nasty scum on the top of his water after just a day or two of cleaning it. Does "cleaning" this tank in the way advertised fix the scum floating on the top? I hate to have to remove him each time, I know that is stressful. I'm hoping this is the answer! Thanks again.

My daughter cleaned her tank for the 1st time tonight and it worked like a charm. Super easy and the betta didn't get bothered by her changing the water at all. She poured the new water in and the old dirty water went out thru the tube. With this tank you dont have to remove the fish at all. We were surprised at how well it cleaned it. Her betta is happy as can be now in its clean tank. :)

Just a tip a betta needs a filter and a heater or they won't last very long at all! And the minimum tank size they need is 2.5 gallons!

No they dont need a filter but simething like this would for sure be good for a fish with a beta or a hold fish that way they can take more part cleaning. Because it doesn't matter what kind fish you need to clean tanks. And this is for sure small enough for a beta. Doesn't look big enough for really any thing else unless you only have a single fish. We have 6 goldfish and one algie (sp?) Eater and it's a pain to clean their tank. SO I have to do it because my 12 year old would have a mess.
