An early plastic perhaps Bakelite and if so, very collectible and pricey.

I love cameos but if you're not sure what it's made of I just got one from a lady and it was a toy necklace :(

This is not a toy, was from my mother in law who had it from circa the 1950's. In original box with holes for the screw on earrings. Please bid with confidence in knowing it is real. Let us just see where the bids go, OK?

Very nice old set! A definite collectible! Judging from the vintage it probably is bakelite; easy to test with simichrome metal polish or 409 & a Q-tip. As you said, bakelite is also highly collectible. Fanned & watching =(^.^)=
