Description

The listing, 1950's Spy Camera has ended.

This is a HIT mini (approx 2" x 1 1/4") made in Japan SPY CAMERA!!! These were made after the war. HIT has come to mean any camera w/features similar to the original model, even if made by another manufacturer. A HIT camera is generally a camera with:
single shutter speed
fixed focus lens
using 17.5mm paper backed film
a fixed aperature
producing a 14 x 14 image
body style similar to the original HIT
which this is an original! If you are into spy movies, collectibles, James Bond, etc. this is for you! The back opens and there is no rust that I can see. I suppose if you can find film for it, it would probably work! I have 3 more spy cameras and if this auction goes well, I might let go of another one! Also, if the credits go high enough I will include the leather case with it. :). It will be free shipping. Have fun! Would make a GREAT Valentine' s gift for that special ' hard to surprise' person!

I just want to leave a little info for You and any Others on this tiny "Hit Camera".... I did have an Original made in Japan in the Early 50's.... They were sold on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in NJ.... I was still in Jr High School and I had a small darkroom at home.... I had an Original with its Leather case, too.... Of course the film was Black & White AND.... When I ran out of their film.... I Kept the film's paper backing AND.... in the Darkroom.... I actually cut 16mm B&W film, taped its lead end inside the paper backing and shot fair photos on it !.... My family boated on the Chesapeake Bay AND..... I rigged it inside a Clear Glass Mason jar and tested it for underwater shots.... It worked !.... You can download Sharp photos of it in "Google.com" after selecting "Images".... Smile !.... Bob, retired in Texas U S A....

To Your Fans and Watchers for Your "Hit Camera".... I can personally Guarantee that One of these Will become an Unusual Collectors' Keepsake !.... I got mine in about 1952.... That's more than a Half Century, ago !.... I No Longer have mine, But it really is a Made in Japan Original Mini Camera that uses Real Film that can be Refilled by cutting 16mm movie film that can be purchased at Camera Shops.... Where 14 x 14 has been described, that means that the image, on the film, IS 14mm x 14mm in size.... And Fun to Have and Show to others !.... These were inexpensive cameras in the past 1950s.... Military type "Spy Cameras" cost about $ 300 and Up, according to their Lenses and funtions, etc.... Just look up Camera prices for Minox and Gami brands, You might be surprised how Expensive they Are !.... I wish Someone "Luck" in winning this little Gem Collectors' "Hit" Camera.... Bob in Texas....

Thank you Bob in Texas aka MajorHuff for the thumbs up on this! Since I have 3 other 'spy' cameras I thought I would spread the joy :+). As mentioned in my description, I will include the leather camera case with it if it goes high enough! Come back anytime to my auctions as I have some more 'interesting' stuff to auction!!
