I sure can, and thanks for fanning me and following my items! I do want to make sure that you read me attached note to the description stating that this is NOT a silver certificate, they are stamped in blue ink, not red. I did not know this when i posted it. But it is a rare bill, not made anymore, and is listed as a "note" not a "federal note" as all your paper money is marked today. I just don't want to mislead anyone on this. Again, thanks!
Thanks for fanning me and following my items. It is a nice bill and in excellant condition. Beleive it or not I received it back in change from the local grocery store! Imagine my surprise!
Wow that is awesome! I used to work for McDonalds in the 80's and 90's and would often find silver dimes and quarters when I counted the cash drawers...glad I kept them all!
I know what you mean, I am a waitress and of course we get ALOT of change, and you wouldn't beleive the people out there that have no knowledge of the silver content in them. I have two whold jars of coins all 1964 and under, and 3 months ago I turned in a bunch and got over $900.00. Most servers ***** when they get change, but I say, Hell yes leave me change, and usually buy theirs from them at the end of the shift. It's definately worth it in the long run!
Thanks for fanning and watching my items, but I have to tell you, that I was just informed that only the stamped blue ink bills are silver certificates, not the red stamped ones. So I looked it up and they were correct, so this is actually only a 1953 $5.00 Bill, I will be changing my description immediately. Now, the dollar bill I have listed is a true silver certificate.
I have one of these I thought it was a silver certificate but its not it is a us note where as the other $5 bills are federal notes the silver certificates are blue. fanned & watching
Thank you so much for that information, and I doubled checked it and you are absoultely correct, I will fix my description immediately, I don't want to miss lead anyone, I also checked the $1.00 bill I have and that was is blue and is a silver certificate, so that one is okay. Again...thank you!
Thank you for fanning me and watching my items! But I want to make sure you read the note applied later after the description explaining that this is NOT a silver certificate, which i did not know when i posted the item, it is just an old 1953 note. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this, because I do not which to mislead anyone. Thanks again.
Thanks for fanning and watching my items! And yes, someone brought this to my attention a couple of days ago, for I amended my description as I did not want to deceive anyone. I now know that silver certificates are stamped in "blue" only. But thank you also!
I have several $1 and $5.00 Silver Certificates. What are they worth? Too I have quite a few silver coins. Eagles silver dollars and lots of Kennedy...where to go to turn in coins like you did. I am disabled now. Coins etc were left to me by Dad back in 1973. thanks for any info you may give me...MJ
I honestly don't know that much about paper money & silver certificates, but coins, I can help you out with. Anything you have in dime, quarters, from 1964 and under are all silver, half dollars and dollars also. You can go to any gold/silver dealer and they will buy them for the silver. Half dollars from 1965-1969 are 40% silver and they will pay you the going silver rate at the time. I check the market on silver prices before turning mine in, anywhere above $30.00 is a good price. It hit $37.00 one time and I took in $40.00 worth of 1962 quarters and walked out with $900.00! If you would like the link to check gold/silver prices, just message me back and I will send it to you. If you have a hard time getting out, you can also request one of those gold/silver kits they advertise on TV. it is a trust worthy site too. I hope I was helpful.
not a problem, like I said I just wanted to make sure you knew, because I don't know much about paper money, good with coins thou. And I will check out some of your old listing, I am sure I will learn something just from looking at them, and Thank you!
