never been to the Big Island- my boss has a property there- and some co-workers have stayed there- maybe in a few years...- Good Luck!

you should really visit the Big Island! it is SO different from O'ahu. plus it has so many great sites to visit, especially the lava flows!

we would really like to go to the big island. but we're so spoiled with the oahu prices (so low compared to the other islands). plus we have lots of favorites so we like to revisit them. one day...

thanks! enjoyed it. would like to see the lava someday. my coworker broke his arm when he fell trying to brace himself on the hardened lava on the big island, last year. i remember seeing an episode on the travel channel with samantha brown in hawaii, and this guy had a resort in the lava area, somewhere, and he lost it because the volcano nearby erupted. he held out until the very end, but he would've died if he remained there.

yah, there are certain places that are becoming vacant lava fields where there use to be homes. some people just refuse to leave till they absolutely can't stay any longer, usually cause the flow is headed to their house. sad, yet amazing at the same time, it's all just Madame Pele's design & makes the Big Island keep getting bigger :)
