Jeff had a lifetime batting average of .297 with 2,314 hits, 449 home runs and 1,529 RBIs. Played his entire career with the Houston Astros. He was a four time All Star. National League MVP in 1994. NL Rookie of the Year in 1991. Gold Glove award winner in 1994. Three time Silver slugger award winner. National League RBI leader in 1994. Houston Astros # 5 retired. Newly inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017. A core part of the Astros lineup with Craig Biggio and Lance Berkman. They were known as the " Killer Bee's ". Elected to the Texas sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
He is the ONLY player in MLB history to achieve six consecutive seasons with each of 30 home runs, 100 RBIs, 100 runs scored and 100 walks.
