The listing, Error or Just extremely Rare? has ended.
This is a 1937 S penny (small cent). If you notice, the S is touching the 9. In my other pennies of the same year, the S is lower and more centered between the 9 and 3. My local coin dealer says this is not a recognized variety nor is it considered an error. Sometimes mintmarks are stamped in the wrong places. To me that is an error, but none the less, this coin is rare. Chances are, you'll never see another 1937S with the S stamped like this. Feel free to ask any questions
