The listing, Indian Arrowhead Dated by Finder 1925 has ended.
This is an arrowhead that I got unexpectedly in an auction box lot a few years ago. That's all I know about it.
It probably came from the Kankakee River area in Illinois, near the city of Kankakee. That's where it was purchased, and most of the consignees of this auction barn are pretty local. It measures 2" long x 1-1/4" at the base. It appears that the original finder wrote on it in ink, when and where it was found. The date of April 31 (evidently the finder didn't realize there are only 30 days in April), 1925 is pretty clear. When I enlarged my photo of it, it appears to say "Plowing on South (?) Hill."
The bottom looks like it may have been broken off, I don't know what it SHOULD look like. It has a very sharp point and an almost "serrated" edge. Bid on what is pictured.
