The 3- to 4-inch-diameter fruits are perfectly round, maturing from rich orange to a translucent yellow. And the flavor is sweet and meaty!
A good choice for pickling as well as eating fresh, Lemon is widely-adapted and a robust grower, probably due to its excellent disease resistance. A good variety for children to grow, it never disappoints!
Direct-sow seeds in a sunny spot after all danger of frost is past, or start indoors and transplant when the first true leaf appears. Cucumbers can be allowed to grow on the ground, but for better-shaped fruit (and to save garden space), grow them in a cage or on a trellis, allowing 1 foot between plants. Keep them well-watered, and pick the fruits promptly
