Description

The listing, VF - EF "FIRST YEAR" 1878-S MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR has ended.

This auction is for a "FIRST YEAR OF MINTAGE" 1878-S Morgan Silver Dollar.
As you can see, the features of this coin are still very evident and I have found that this coin easily brings a VF grade and above, with it coming up just short of the EF grade. Of course you have the best scans and pictures that I could get for you to make your own decision on its condition and/or grade for yourself.

Lately I have been trying to show both pictures and scans of my items because both seem to show different aspects of certain details. They do not look to be the same item sometimes, but they are.

The scans and /or pictures above are of the actual item that you will receive, and are provided for you to determine the condition and/or grade of it.
I never clean or alter coins in any way, and do my best to allow you to see every detail and/or every blemish that the coins I list have, so that you can make an informed and confident bid.
I am no longer accepting GIN offers for my auctions, everyone now gets a shot at bidding.
The winner will receive this via FREE SHIPPING W/Tracking.
Remember that all Listia rules apply.
Just let it be known that I have changed to Mondays and Thursdays as when I actually go to the Post Office and pay the Postage and Tracking in person. This change has come in an attempt to keep the Free Shipping since the post office has raised their prices and the amounts spent on auctions has been getting lower. This will hopefully allow for multiple items to go out in 1 package and keep me from having to start charging for shipping.
Thank you for your interest in my auctions and stopping by to view them.

if I could get away with $25 per Morgan for the ones I need, that collection would have been completed long ago.
picking up a coin here on Listia is always a great find instead of having to pay actual cash for it. I know that it is not really free, but it is a way for both seller and winner to come out ahead.

congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I wish you all the best there.
the best way to keep a collection growing with a life partner who is not really a partner in your collection is to always remind them how your collection is just an addition to your life insurance policy. :)
at first, I had trouble convincing my wife that I was actually making an investment by spending $100 on a penny, nickel, dime or quarter, and if you think about where she was coming from, it did sound crazy. all I had to do was get her to help me look up the coins worth and then she could understand.
just make sure that you spend money on her as well and all will remain good. :)

all of this talk about Morgans had me getting up to check as to how many that I do have left to list on here.
I am surprised that I only have 3 more left in the "For Listia" pile. that brings us back to the first statement about how not enough Morgans are being listed.
