Description
The listing, ~Estate Find Skeleton Pocket Watch Great Detail Works!~ has ended.
Welcome to my auction page. I love to go to estate sales, charity events, online auctions, antique stores and travel for vintage pieces. I am including comparison photos to a ruler to give you a just on the size. Those that have won my auctions many have found that I add in an extra something for them according to how high the auction goes for. I have even added solid gold to high gold auctions that were won. Check out my other auctions, I will be listing many estate finds as I am unpacking into my new home.
This gorgeous skeleton watch has great detail and you can see the parts moving inside which is really cool. I never seen one like this. I got this at an estate. I could not find any marking on it so I tried to research it, but all I could find was when you can see the gears etc. then they are called skeleton watches. I do not know a lot about watches but to try and grab them at the estate sales or where ever I can find them, because you do not see pocket watches that often. This unique estate find will start off at 1 credit and free shipping. Good luck and happy bidding!!
Also letting others know on all my auctions getting ready to end. Those that like collectibles I also was lucky enough to get an old skipper doll with her closet case I will be adding today. I remember them from when I was a kid, and when I seen it I had to win it... some little girl will be lucky on that one. I loved skipper :)
the link says it has a certificate, this does not I just got this in a box of stuff at the estate auction with some old coin jewelry also that I will list today. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
I try to bid on all the pocket watches at the estate auctions, I have won several and lost several because I really do not know a lot about pocket watches...more into jewelry. But I always bring them here to you :)
My son and I both have looked it over looking for a marking, there is so many details in it, it is kind of hypnotizing just looking for one, but neither of us could find anything.
I buy and sell watches I'm surprised that it doesn't have markings....you would probably have to open the watch and look on the gears to find the maker...I wonder if the jewels I see on the gears are real if they are then the watch is worth at least $100 if not then maybe $30...if it were older, with real jewel and real silver the watch would be in the $500 range if I were you I'd at least take it to a jeweler to have it appraised
I did not look on the gears and I did not look in the swirls, there is too many of them. I will look through it with a magnifying glass tonight and let you know. I just looked the usual places. I was just happy it worked, this and my last one worked and my last one went well on here. My first one went even better and did not work, but it was rose gold filled and it was dated early 1900's. When I go to estates I never get to see whats in the boxes a lot of times and many times others bid against me, so I never know if I am just bidding to beat someone or bidding for a treasure. Most the time its the second and either way to me its like a treasure since it holds some sort of history to it :)
