Description
The listing, Samsung 2G Flip Phone Used but Still Works has ended.
One phone, one charger, one battery in phone. NO SIM card. Service carrier was AT&T.
Read online that outdated phones are still usable to make 911 calls for emergencies and do not require a SIM card OR service provider. I have not tried it, but I'd like to see this phone go to someone who can use it.
No GIN or lowering days.
Questions & Comments
Normally outdated phones can indeed call 911. I used to always keep one in my car especially during the winter because you never know. Hi, I had a 2G phone just like that one and when my carrier updated from 2G to 4G, the phone no longer worked, not even to call 911. So as long as a carrier didn't update their system from 2G to 4G the phone should be fine.
No problem! My statement was based on my own personal experience. I always kept an old 2G in my car even though I have an Android; you know you forget your phone sometimes, things like that. And that's what happened with my own 2G; but my elderly mother, who also had the same type of 2G, went through the same thing and the experience applied to both phones. But these days phones can be tinkered with all the time... I don't know that you can override a network update but no harm in tinkering with it!
